How to remove EIS on Mercedes S-Class W220
Mercedes S-Class EIS removal procedure for W220
Procedure is pretty straight forward on how to remove the EIS on a Mercedes S-Class W220 for years 2004 2005 and 2006. Once you have the electronic ignition switch removed, you can mail it to us at Mercedes Key Replacement. Will have it shipped back to you within 24 hours and having you driving again in no time.
Removal time: 20 minutes
Tools needed: L Hook, needle nose pliers, T20 torx
Step by step instructions:
Step #1:
First, remove the chrome ring that fits around the area where you insert the remote fobik key to start the car. Use the needle nose pliers to get a grip on the clips and rotate it counterclockwise until it spins off. This is what holds the EIS to the dashboard.
Step #2:
Next, move onto the top center vent in the dashboard. Use the L hook to insert in between the air vents then rotate to lock in place then pull up to remove the vent.
Step #3:
After its removed, remove the T20 bolts with your driver. Now use the L hook to apply pressure under the vent so it pops out. No need to remove the wiring as it will only be temporary.
Step #4
Now you have access to the EIS, use your hand where the air vent is removed to gain access to it and pull out. Remove the 2 wire connectors attached.
