How to remove EIS on Mercedes Maybach 62
Removing EIS for Mercedes key replacement
Instructions on how to remove the EIS on a Maybach 62 for years 2004 thru 2012 are going to be similar to how to remove the electronic ignition switch on a Maybach 57 due to the same design in the dashboard. When a Mercedes key fob replacement is needed, you will need to remove the switch and mail it to us so we can service it.
Removal time: 25 minutes
Tools needed: needle nose pliers, T20 torx driver
Step by step instructions:
Step #1:
First remove the chrome circular bezel that fits around the front of the EIS on the dashboard by rotating it counterclockwise until its removed
Step #2:
Next, remove the lower kick panel that has the OBD connector attached to it, this will provide room to access the EIS from behind the dashboard to remove it. There are 3 T20 screws that hold the panel in place
Step #3:
Lower the panel, and reach to the EIS and lower and remove all electrical connections
Ship us your EIS and will program a new key fob to the ignition switch. Includes 1 remote fobik key and 1 preprinted shipping label for EIS
