How to remove EIS on Mercedes G-Class

In order to remove the EIS from a Mercedes G Wagon for a lost key replacement you will first need to remove the instrument cluster. By removing the gauges, will provide access to the electronic switch from the rear of the dashboard. This procedure works for all G wagons made from 2004 to 2014 including keyless go and turnkey fobiks.
Removal time: 30 minutes
Tools needed: Flat pick or file, needle nose pliers
Step by step instructions:
Step #1:
Insert flat pick or file into slot under instrument cluster control dial until it clicks and disengages the clip that holds it to the dashboard, do the same on the opposite side as well until the instrument panel can be pulled out
Step #2:
Disconnect any wire connectors attached to the gauges before fully removing out of vehicle
Step #3:
Remove the circular ring that hold the EIS to the front of the dashboard by twisting it off counterclockwise with needle nose pliers until its removed
Step #4:
Now reach into the compartment area where the cluster is removed and reach for the EIS from behind the dashboard and pull up so that it can be removed but first disconnect any wire connectors still attached before removing.
