How to remove EIS on Mercedes GLK-Class X204
Mercedes GLK-Class EIS removal instructions
It may be tuff trying to find instructions on how to remove the electronic ignition switch on a Mercedes X204 years 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 and 2014. Luckily, we have the correct method and tooling needed in order to safely remove it. With only 2 bezels to remove, you can have the switch out in under 30 minutes. Making removal a breeze, when finished simply mail it to us for a Mercedes Key Replacement
Removal time: 30 minutes
Tools needed: plastic wedge or flat head so not to damage the plastic paneling, needle nose pliers
Step by step instructions:
Step #1:
Start by unscrewing the circular ring that holds the EIS to the dashboard with needle nose pliers or a flat head by rotating it counterclockwise until it spins off
Step #2:
Use your wedge to remove the wooden panel that sits above the EIS and work your way around the paneling until it pops off and can be set aside
Step #3:
Next remove the left wooden panel in the same manner
Step #4:
Move to the center wooden panel and repeat the procedure again
Step #5:
Next, remove the black cluster bezel that goes around the instrument cluster by starting at the top and working your way around it until it is lose you can remove it
Step #6:
Now you should have a gap big enough to the bottom right of the cluster to remove the EIS with your hand, gently removing the 3 electrical wire connectors first to not damage them.
Step #7:
There are 2 white connectors and then a 3 top black connector that is removed in a different manner. You will need to reach to back and squeeze the 2 clips together then push it to the front of the EIS then lift up to remove.
Step #8:
Once all connectors are removed, the EIS can be packaged and shipped back to us at Mercedes Key Replacement with the preprinted shipping label that is provided in your email
