How to remove EIS for Mercedes C-Class W204
Mercedes C-Class EIS removal instructions
This procedure is for the class W204 from years 2007 to 2014, please refer to W203 EIS removal process here
Removal Time: 25 minutes
Tools needed for job:
1 X Flat Head and Need Nose Pliers
Step by step instructions:
Step #1:
First, drop steering wheel lock and pull steering wheel all the way out and raise up and lock steering wheel back in place so that it does not move around.
Step #2:
Second, you will need to pull plastic dust cover that fits around trim area near bottom of steering wheel column, if needed loosen panel attached around EIS to help loosen dust cover.
Step #3:
Third, loosen screw ring that holds EIS to dashboard with flat head or needle nose pliers until its off and detached.
Step #4:
Fourth, reach through area that plastic dust cover was previously attached and grab EIS to pull down to remove.
IMPORTANT: Be careful not to tug wiring harness, wire harness clips need to be removed before EIS can be pulled out from dashboard of Mercedes.
Step #5:
Fifth: Pack EIS in shipping container and use shipping label provided to ship to Mercedes Key Replacement
